CAR EXPORTS IN 2010 EXPECTED TO REACH 80,000 UNITS : MINISTER

Jakarta Forum – Jakarta, Industry minister M.S. Hidayat predicted car exports in 2010 would reach 80, 000, close to the 2008 figures. “Car exports this year are predicted to be close to the figures of two years ago, ” he said at a meeting with members of the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries (Gaikindo) here on Monday. He said he had the optimism because the global market had started to recover after slowing down. As it was known car exports in 2009 dropped steeply due to a world recession. “I am convinced this year it will turn around with exports predictably reaching around 80, 000 units as global markets are starting to show signs of recovery, ” he said. TELKOM PROJECTS ENTIRE SUMATRA COVERED BY INTERNET IN 2010

Jakarta Forum – Bandung, State telecommunications company PT Telkom Indonesia (Tbk) has projected that all regencies in Sumatra will be covered by the Internet this year. “Right now some regency capitals are not yet covered by the Internet, ” Deputy Executive General Manager of DCS Telkom for the Western Region Sukardi Silalahi said here Sunday. In the meantime, all capitals down to subdistricts in West Java had already been covered by the Internet. At least each regency capital must be covered by the Internet.
